Social Media and Parent/Community engagement during COVID

The organization that I work for is the Backbone for our area's Collective Impact Initiative, and I am the Director of the Initiative. The Backbone organization has a social media presence and will posts things for the Initiative on that page. I am looking for ways to engage and connect with parents and community members during the pandemic; the easiest way is social media. I feel that the Initiative should have a social media presence of its own, but the ED and AD think that it will distract from the message of the Backbone organization.

What are some of you doing on the social media issue? Does your CII have a separate social media presence from the Backbone organization? If not, what are some promising practices? How are you engaging with parents and community members right now?
