Posted 4 years ago at 5:03 am

Thank you to everyone who recommended titles and voted in the last Quick Poll on the next books for the Forum's Social Change Book Club! Out of the 20 books nominated, the top 6 most voted selections are:

  1. Building Powerful Community Organizations: A Personal Guide to Creating Groups that Can Solve Problems and Change the World by Michael Jacoby Brown (August/September)

  2. The Solution Revolution: How Business, Government, and Social Enterprises Are Teaming Up to Solve Society's Toughest Problems by William Eggers and Paul MacMillan (October/November)

  3. Measuring the Networked Nonprofit: Using Data to Change the World by Beth Kanter and Katie Delahaye Paine (December/January)

  4. The Heart of Social Change: How to Make a Difference in Your World by Marshall Rosenberg (February/March)

  5. Our Kids: The American Dream in Crisis by Robert D. Putnam (April/May)

  6. The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander (June/July)

We'll be changing our reading schedule to a more forgiving two months per selection. (We know everyone is busy so it can be hard to fit in time to read!) We look forward to reading these great books with you, and discussing what questions and thoughts come up for you related to your social change work

And like before, we'll be doing ebook giveaways for each book club post, so definitely share your thoughts for a chance to win a future book club selection!
