Job Purpose:  Support the Great Expectations Initiative Director as well as anchor partners, committees, teams, and volunteers in all aspects of scheduling, programming and administration for the Great Expectations program.  The Great Expectation initiative facilitates school and community efforts to close identified cradle-to-career educational opportunity and achievement gaps of children and youth of low-income families and/or families of color who live in the west suburban communities served by Interfaith Outreach and the Wayzata and Orono school districts.

General Responsibilities:

3. Possess working knowledge of Great Expectations programs, partners, committees, teams, events, campaigns, and special projects
4. Perform the support specialist role in a professional, ethical, efficient and organized manner
5. Maintain professional standards of confidentiality
6. Work in a supportive and collegial manner with Interfaith board, directors, leadership team, staff, volunteers, partners, and all Interfaith Outreach stakeholders 
7. Be able to multi-task and accomplish work in a self-directed, collaborative and timely manner

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities listed below are considered required and essential for the position.  Other duties may be assigned by the Great Expectations Initiative Director.

• Represent the Great Expectations initiative in a professional manner reflecting the values of Interfaith Outreach and its vision, mission and culture
• Welcome and support volunteers throughout the organizations; act as a resource for volunteers
• Function as a liaison between the Great Expectations initiative and staff, anchor partners, committees, teams and volunteers
• Volunteer Support (in partnership with the Community Engagement Team)
o Work with Great Expectations team to identify volunteer opportunities
o Help to create and keep current volunteer job descriptions
o Assist in training and supervising Great Expectations volunteers
o Support Great Expectations volunteers through regular contact in the areas of scheduling, notetaking, and more
o Maintain accessibility to respond to questions and provide general support
o Assist in providing regular Great Expectations volunteer recognition
• Programming
o Work with team to develop and implement strategies for continued program improvement
o Participate in program planning and evaluation efforts
o Research, collect and summarize data relevant to timely trends, topics and key issues and opportunities that impact the Great Expectations program
o Knowledgeable resource about programmatic needs, serves as a resource to director, staff, anchor partners, committees, teams, volunteers
o Possesses working understanding of systems and policies contributing to opportunity and achievement gaps
o Function as a point person for programs, as requested by Great Expectations Initiative Director
• Administrative Support
o Support the Great Expectations Initiative Director in scheduling and maintaining a master calendar
o Schedule Great Expectations meetings with director, staff, anchor partners, committees, teams, and prospective donors
o Support collection, analysis, and dissemination of program data
o Prepare, assemble and make committee meeting agendas and materials available in a timely manner
o Prepare and/or create and disseminate materials for and to partners; i.e., reports, rosters, spread sheets, memos, PowerPoint and meeting follow-up documents as requested
o Support planning and activation of annual and special events such as the annual meeting and community gatherings.
o Support ad hoc projects such as surveys, special mailings, scheduling times/dates/space
• Participate in job-related educational or training events as requested

Required Qualifications:  
• A combination of education and work experience as follows:
o High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years in program administration assistance
o Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree and 1+ year in program administration assistance
• Excellent clerical, organizational, time management, and customer service skills
• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
• Ability to use scheduling tools such as Doodle
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to anticipate and prioritize responsibilities of the position, strong multi-tasker
• Team player, ability to support large teams across a variety of skill levels (volunteers, committees, anchor partners)

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with one or more of the historically underserved communities served by Interfaith
• Ability to understand a program vision/strategy and execute on the details to achieve it
• Ability to use or learn to use desktop publishing and similar software for creating flyers, brochures, etc.

General Demands
• Must have access to reliable transportation
• Must be willing to work primarily out of Interfaith Outreach’s Plymouth, MN office
• Must be willing to travel between work sites
• Occasional need to attend meetings or events outside of the regular workday (e.g. early morning fundraising breakfast, evening committee meetings)
