Background: The Global Development Incubator (GDI) was created to advance and scale social impact. We do this by creating and expanding select ideas, organizations, and initiatives that address urgent global problems. GDI provides structured pathways over 2-3 years to support the achievement of critical step-changes necessary for ideas and organizations to move to the next level.
GDI goes beyond traditional consulting models, capacity builders, and bureaucratic platforms to do hands-on implementation in addition to strategic and networking support. We take initiative to address real-world barriers to growth, offer a critical and independent perspective, and partner with innovators to deliver social impact at scale.
We are always exploring new programs and opportunities, but our current focus areas are:
1. AgEnterprise: The intersection of novel financing solutions and information technology to improve lives and livelihoods in rural communities.
2. Development Frontiers: Unconventional financing, policy, and capacity-building ideas to change the global development architecture.
3. Beyond Health: A cross-sectoral approach to address the root causes and complex interdependencies that stand in the way of healthy communities.
4. Impact Escalated: Financial and structural changes to unlock entrepreneurship for individuals, small and growing enterprises, and corporations.
The successful candidate will work with projects across GDI’s portfolios supporting the identification and retention of key program and operational staff.

Position Description: This position provides a unique opportunity to work closely with social innovators and entrepreneurs and to identify, engage, and retain the staff that are key to the initiatives success.  This position will support both GDI and incubated initiatives, ensuring exceptional customized results benchmarked by industry best practice. 

This position is supervised by the Director of Finance.


• Design recruitment strategy to ensure identification and engagement of the best candidates available at the mid and senior management levels.
• Proactive cultivation and engagement of key pipelines and networks for program and operational talent.
• Manage recruitment of essential staff for both GDI and our incubated partnerships averaging 20-30 placements per year.
• Develop collateral and materials to ensure maximum effectiveness in reaching key candidates.
• Select and deploy online systems to manage recruitment and employee retention.

• Develop onboarding programs to ensure efficiency and effectiveness for staff to begin contributing quickly.
• Lead annual review and benchmarking of salaries and benefits for relevant industries and recommend effective compensation strategies.
• Manage employee development and professional growth strategy and activities.
• Develop and deploy performance review materials, processes, and timelines.
• Manage benefits relationships and guide the Accounting Associate in the administration of benefits.

Desired qualifications: We are looking for ambitious candidates with a mix of entrepreneurial, strategic, and operational experience. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively, build trust and consistently deliver high impact results.

• Minimum of 5 years of direct professional experience providing exceptional recruiting services with a specific focus on the not for profit industry.
• Professional experience or demonstrated interest in developing talent management and related Human Resources policies, procedures, and system.
• Well-developed networks and relationships with key pipelines for relevant potential recruits.
• Strong technical background in industry best practices and benchmarks for employee retention.
